€50.5 Million in Solar Energy Grants: How Lithuanian Residents Can Apply

Lithuania’s Environmental Project Management Agency (APVA) has launched a new round of financial support for residents investing in solar energy. Homeowners who install private solar power systems or increase their capacity can apply from February 25, 2025. Additionally, from March 4, 2025, residents purchasing a solar power plant or shares in a remote solar park can also receive support. The Ministry of Energy has allocated €50.5 million for these initiatives.

Who Can Apply and How Much Support Is Available?

Residents who installed or upgraded solar panels on or after February 1, 2022, are eligible. Required documents (VAT invoices, transfer-acceptance acts) must match these dates.

✅ Support amounts:

  • Remote solar parks: €323 per kW, up to 10 kW per site. Grant for acquiring a share in a solar power plant by individuals: €15 million.
  • New private solar panels: €255.07 per kW, up to 10 kW. Grant for new household solar power plant installations: €34.8 million.
  • Capacity upgrades: €191.16 per kW, up to 10 kW. Grant for expanding household solar power plants: €709,000.

Solar energy must be assigned to residential properties registered in the National Registry Center.

As of March 7, 2025, approximately 5,800 households have applied for financial aid for already installed solar panels, over 330 residents have requested support for increasing their solar power capacity, and about 1,300 have purchased solar units in remote parks and submitted applications for compensation.

Faster and Easier Application Process

APVA has simplified the process, replacing the previous two-step method with a single-step application. Applicants now submit all required documents at once, only after the solar system is installed. This change will speed up approvals and payments.
