The Lithuanian Ministry of Energy has introduced an updated incentive scheme to promote energy storage installations for public entities, businesses, and farmers. The new scheme broadens eligibility, extends the financing period, and doubles the maximum storage capacity eligible for funding.

Who Can Apply?
- Public institutions (including hospitals and schools)
- Businesses
- Farmers
(Applicants must already have renewable energy installations)
Applicants will be able to receive up to 30% of their costs covered, with a maximum storage capacity of 1 MWh per project. Applicants will also be able to opt for State aid under the de minimis (small value State aid) scheme, with eligible costs from 4 April 2024.
Maximum grants:
- €209,000 for lithium iron phosphate storage systems
- €173,000 for lithium-ion storage systems
“This is great news, especially for public institutions working towards energy independence. We expect this funding to significantly enhance Lithuania’s energy storage capacity. We are consistently promoting the expansion of renewable energy, and storage solutions are becoming increasingly vital. That is why financial support for such initiatives is essential,” said Energy Minister Žygimantas Vaičiūnas.
